Condici’s guide to dressing the mother of the bride/groom

A wedding is just the excuse you need to dress up and there can be no more glamorous reason than your own daughter’s or son’s wedding. Condici specialises in elegant occasionwear with everything you need for the total wedding look. The Condici collection consists of cocktail length and full length dresses with matching boleros, longer jackets and coats; all beautifully brought together with stunning co-ordinating hats and fascinators. Soft trouser suits add a touch of sophistication and classic separates that can be worn again are a great addition to your wardrobe. Fabrics include our elegant signature crepe and soft chiffon in pretty pastels and bolder, bright colours or contrasting two-tone combinations. Luxurious silk complements chiffon prints and special fabrics include cloque, jacquard and tweed to add texture. Condici has an outfit to suit every occasion as well as every type of figure.

For the curvier figure, a jacket that  covers your hips creates a longer, more streamlined silhouette. Our soft trouser suits flatter your legs and draw attention upwards with a sparkly camisole and floaty jacket.

A long jacket worn over a straight dress is flattering for just about every type of figure and is brilliant for disguising a fuller bottom or thick waist.

If you are petite, then a more fitted shorter jacket can look stunning and will perfectly accentuate your trim figure.

A lovely dress with a jacket is always a popular choice because you can take the jacket off later in the evening when things begin to warm up; nearly all our dresses have short or elbow length sleeves. Alternatively, take along a matching wrap to cover your shoulders if you are self-conscious about your upper arms.

Each season there is also a selection of gorgeous stand-alone dresses in the collection that are a statement all on their own.

How to look your beautiful best You will want to look elegant, and slightly understated, rather than trendy. Make sure your outfit doesn’t clash with the bride or with what the other mother is wearing.

Dressing Tips Choose your outfit in a colour that suits your hair and complexion. Your matching hat or fascinator should complement your outfit but also suit you. Make sure a hat is worn on the crown, not on the back of your head. Fascinators are worn on the right side of your head and should feel comfortable if they are correctly positioned.

Don’t be swayed by anyone else – you have to be happy with the final look. Bride aside, all eyes will be on you!
